Codemasters has announced Ashes Cricket 2009 will be hitting Wii, Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 August 7th. The high definition versions are being developed by Transmission Games and published by Codemasters, while the Wii version is being handled by Gusto Games.

In addition, A video featuring England players Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Strauss, James Anderson and Monty Panesar and Australian stars Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke and Mitchell Johnson is up on the official Ashes Cricket ‘09 site.

This is a big title for Nintendo in New Zealand as it’s the first Cricket title to be released on the Wii here.

Who’s picking this up for the Wii?

wii version doesn't have motionplus and from what I have read in early previews it may not be that good. on the fence with the wii version will have to wait for reviews probably going to get the pc version though since it will be modded like crazy though.
