Yesterday Namco announced that the upcoming Tekken 5 for the Playstation 2 will feature a unique bonus mode which will allow for use of extra moves otherwise not seen in the standard fighting mode and will expand upon the pivotal characters storylines too.
The new mode is as yet untitled but will allow fighters to brawl their way from stage to stage in the similar vein of the Streets of Rage series tackling multiple enemies at a time. Throughout the course of the fistful action storylines will unravel and create a bit more depth to the fighting extravaganza. One of the new moves is being described as "blasting off or pounding a large number of enemies," by Namco. You'll also be able to interact with environments by the only means you'd expect: destruction.
Tekken 5 features three new characters: Raven, Feng Wei, and Kazama Asuka and the familar roster of Tekken 4. By winning fights, gamers earn money that can be spent on a new wardrobe that includes costumes, hats, and glasses.
Tekken 5 has been out in Japan for quite some time now and is expected to hit our arcades sometime this month or early next. Tekken 5 for the PS2 lands on the 22nd of February in the States and is expected quite shortly after over here.
