GTA: SA Headed to the Xbox

In a short but sweet press release yesterday Take-Two announced in an expected move that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will make it's way to the Xbox next year. The Xbox version will be released simultaneously with the PC version on June 7th in the USA, and June 10th in Europe. No Australasian date has been revealed as of yet, but expect it to be not too far off that of the European date.

The news came out as Take-Two reported their earning for the fiscal year which ended October 31st. Net sales were US$1.13 billion compared to US$1.03 billion for fiscal 2003. However net income for the publisher was down from that of last year, US$65.4 million compared to that of $98.1 million in the 2003 fiscal year. Fourth quarter net income on the other hand was much more positive thanks to the success of the PS2 version of GTA: SA, with Take-Two reporting figures of US$62.6 million, a great deal higher than the figures from the same period last year which totaled to US$26.3 million.
