ZeniMax Media, parent company of Bethesda Softworks (Elder Scrolls, Fallout 3), has bought out legendary FPS developer Id Software giving them one of the deadliest franchise list in the world.

Although the current deals with EA and Activision still apply - they will publish Rage and Wolfenstein respectively - any future Id Software title be it a Quake, Wolfenstein, Doom or Rage, will be published by ZeniMax Media.

Id Software issued a press release on their website in which Todd Hollenshead and John Carmack give a few reasons for the sale. Check it out on id software.com

Really out of the blue buy-out..
It could help Bethesda improve their FPS skills even more. It's going to prove interesting.
