Square Enix today announced that Final Fantasy XIV, an all new massively-multiplayer role-playing game (MMORPG), is planned for a simultaneous global release next year on PlayStation 3.
Taking place in the realm of Eorzea, the game will be online based, similar to Final Fantasy XI.

What's the bet that Microsoft already has the cheque book out?
Square-Enix are doing tests to see if FFXIV can run on other consoles.
