PS3 Slim or Chinese knock off? That is the question being asked about these pictures leaked from a Chinese factory - the same day Sony denied a PS3 redesign was in the works.

I'd say chinese knockoff. I'm impressed by my unit, I don't want it to be smaller. IT'S A BLACK BEAST RIGHT NOW!
If it goes slim..it just..wouldn't be right.
Also note, down in the right hand corner of the first pic, it looks like it's packing a 120GB HDD...that thing does not look like it can pack the 3.5" drives so that only leaves Solid State drives and I'm sure though those are still a mint so will the redesign bring a bigger price??

Its easily identifed as a knock-off. But the box is easily so convincing.

Convincing. I'm no expert, but Sony's "Style" is no were to be seen on that box. Even the curvy nature of the PS3 logo is very unlike the spider man font you see everywhere with anything to do with the PS3.Its easily identifed as a knock-off. But the box is easily so convincing.

I think it's fake, but i think it would be a smart idea to release a PS3 slim, along with a price cut.

It took Sony a few years to get the PS2 slim out, I doubt it'd be so easy to get the PS3 slim out.

While I agree it's probably a fake, you could easily fit a 2.5" drive in there (the current systems use 2.5"). And the style is similar to Sony's style, I mean look at the original Playstation 1 logo compared to the PSone logo, that thing looked nothing like it and went all curvy to. I also think all the stuff could fit in if like the past slim systems they kept the power source on the outside
