Sony NZ Traps a Ghost... Busters Title - Updated

Published By: Morgan Bates   On: Thursday 7 May 2009 8:02 AM

Sony NZ has bagged publishing rights to the upcoming Ghostbusters game in New Zealand. The title is still set for release June 19th on PlayStation 2, PS3 and will come out on PSP later, while Wii, Xbox 360 and DS are left haunted by Sony’s coup.

“Atari is committed to maximizing the launch of the Ghostbusters videogame across Europe,” Said Jim Wilson, VP Worldwide Marketing, Atari.

You heard the man: less is more.

Update

Kotaku Australia are reporting that Atari Australia will be handling the non-Sony versions - so DS, Xbox 360, PC and Wii players can rest easy knowing they'll only have to wait a few months longer for the Atari releases.

Which version will you be picking up, buying a PlayStation version or wait for the Atari releases?

Was this game slated for an Xbox360 release? If so, I'll import it for X360. If not, I'll rent it for PS3. Not enough friends own PS3's the really warrant buying anything on it.

It's coming out on 360 in the US. Won't know if it's region locked until release.

I suppose this makes sense in a business sense but is it really necessary? It's one game out of hundreds being released multi platform.

It's smart cause it's a title with some hype behind it and could generate some great market play for Sony..god knows they need something to tide them by until Uncharted 2, another Ratchet & Clank and God Of War 3!

Oooo, I'm looking forward to God Of War 3...
