Wellington-based developer Sidhe Interactive announced today that it has been awarded additional funding from TechNZ, the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology's business investment program. The extra funding will help expand their cross-platform development tech.

"The TechNZ funding will enable us to reach our goals faster by accelerating our development of technology to address the largest issues for this and future generations of game production," said Mario Wynands, Managing Director and co-founder of Sidhe Interactive.

video game life would be complete if they went back to the drawing boards and actually made a good next gen rugby league game. Hell even if they have to plagarise ideas from other ea games.

Just make it happen.

Sidhe should put money into something worthwhile, not a rugby game...

I think it's great that what I know as the first big NZ developer has received more funding.

Nothing wrong with their league games, like any good gaming company, there's always room for improvement and they'll hopefully listen to the market to know what to fix up.

I wonder if Sonny Bill will be in the next one..
