With little more than a month passed since Spore started selling, EA have announced two upcoming spore expansions. The first of the two, Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack, will contain 100 new creature parts that will expand the creature creator selection. The Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack is set to release on the 18th of November.

The second of the two expansions, which hasn’t been given a title, will expand on the Space stage of the game and enable players’ creatures to depart from their spaceships and explore new planets. A new Adventure Creator will also be included and allow players to create and share their own missions.

Lucy Bradshaw, general manager of Maxis studio, had the following to say on the official release in regards to the expansions.
"Many of our fans have asked us for even more tools to build with, while others are looking to extend their gameplay. As soon as we wrapped up Spore, we turned our focus to creating additional content that caters to fans' individual tastes. With the cosmos as our backdrop, we can take Spore in almost infinite directions, constantly changing and evolving the experience."

I suppose it doesn’t come as a great shock that Spore would have sims-style expansion production; it’s just a bit surprising that they’ve started so early after Spore’s release.

How does everyone else feel? Any Spore owners keen to pick the Parts Pack up next month?

I reckon it's a bit soon but i suppose it's good if it's being released while people are still playing the original

I'm pretty over Spore already. Some more tools would be cool, but doubting I'd pick up any expansions unless they are very cheap.

these expansions would have to be cheap as they're not adding that much to the game.

Also because creature creator by itself is so cheap that kinda also suggests that they'll be cheap. Or I might just be completely wrong.

This is such a rip off. They're supposed to be supporting their fans, not charging exuberant prices for stuff that really should have been in the game in the first place.
If it's something that would force you to restart the game from scratch rather than adding playtime to it, it SHOULD have been a patch. I don't pay for patches.
