Wii Motion Plus Remote Add-on Announced

At its 2008 E3 conference, Nintendo showed off its recently announced add-on for the Wii remote that will give players a much greater degree of accuracy in their games.

The Motion Plus attachment will reportedly give 1:1 control over your on-screen movements, allowing for a much higher degree of accuracy as you twist, shake, and rotate your controller.

At the event, Nintendo US head Reggie Fils-Amie did battle in the fencing mini-game from the new Wii Sports Resort. From what we could see it certainly looked more responsive than, say, Red Steel, or even the original boxing mode from Wii Sports. We'll have to see if any difference can be felt with some hands on time ourselves. Reportedly, older games won't be "backwards compatible" with the adaptor, so it'll be interesting to see how it fares.
