Nintendo have finally launched the official Metroid Prime 2: Echoes website which gives a little more insight into the highly anticipated title's features. Also on the site is the new TV Spot which features a live action Samus on a moody set-piece.
The official website is designed in the same vein as the game, you interact with the website as if you were behind Samus's visor and scan objects to retrieve data about the game concerning weapons, enemies and locales and even unlock a few trailers. One of which was put in the hands of veteran special-effects studio Asylum Visual Effects who's work include a whole range of commercials including the effects for the film Master and Commander. The Spot features a beautiful woman sharing the same physical features as Samus walking down a dark alleyway and through pockets of light much like in Echoes with it's innovative Light and Dark area spots. During her walk bits of metal fly and form around her body to eventually take on the shape of the infamous Bounty Hunter's armour.
Set for an American release on November 15 and December 3rd here in the lovely New Zealand, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes sees the return of bounty hunter Samus Aran as she travels to a world torn into light and darkness and is hunted by a mysterious entity and a warring race called the Ing. The game will also feature multiplayer modes for up to four players who can battle each other as they search for weapons, grapple across ceilings, and turn into Morph Balls to make their escapes.
