Infogrames Think Alone in the Dark Can Sell 2-3 Million Units

David Gardner has stated his belief that forthcoming adventure title Alone in the Dark can sell "2-3 million units" on all platforms, following its delayed release in June this year.

The Infogrames CEO, who recently appointed industry heavyweight Phil Harrison to the role of president, also explained the new team's priorities.

"We want to stop losing money," he told Reuters. "This management's team number one goal is to get a business plan together that gets us to a break-even level."

But he wouldn't be drawn into details on how that would happen, or predict a timescale on when, saying only that the company was "reviewing a policy of whether to give targets to the market."

However, his predictions for Alone in the Dark sales won't affect the company's pending financial results, with Q4 figures due next week.

"The fourth quarter is going to be obviously smaller than Q4 a year ago because the core release that was going to make the core of revenue is now in Q1.

"For the full business year, we are not announcing any different guidance," he added when asked whether or not he was expecting revenue to have stabilised, as per the original guidance.

"So it's in the region. I would not expect a full year increase but I would not expect to be much different either from last fiscal year considering currencies and all that."
