Sega titles outsells Metroid Prime 3 for the Wii by 6-to-1

Four new entries broke into the Japanese software sales chart for the week ending March 9, headed by PlayStation 3 title Yakuza 3: Kenzan which crashed straight in at number one, selling over 180,000 units in the process.

By contrast the next highest new entry, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for the Nintendo Wii, only managed fifth place, selling just 32,000 units.

Super Smash Bros Brawl and Wii Fit took second and third places respectively, shifting almost 100,000 copies between them, according to Media Create sales data.

Gundam Musou Special for the PlayStation 2 took fourth place, and Wii Sports edged ever closer to the 3 million mark in sixth.

Nintendo DS pair, Soma Bringer and new entry Doraemon: Nobita and the Green Giant, were seventh and eighth, while Musou Orochi for the PlayStation Portable and new entry Everyone's General Knowledge Training TV for the Wii finished off the top ten.

Overall Nintendo platforms accounted for seven of the top ten placings, although thanks to Yakuza 3's performance, Sony platforms accounted for over 54 per cent of total top ten sales.
