In its launch month, Fable has sold more than 4000 units making this RPG New Zealand's most popular Xbox game. Microsoft sold 20 percent of all software sold in New Zealand across all gaming platforms in the week of Fable's release. "We are incredibly pleased with these successes," says Wilf Robinson, head of Xbox New Zealand. "They signal the start of a very successful Christmas period for us and we know Fable is trailblazing a path for the record sales that we expect from Halo 2 in November."

This software success has been further compounded by hardware domination. The recent Crystal bundle has successfully bolstered console sales and according to GFK's figures, Xbox achieved 56 percent of console sales three weeks ago, with 69 percent last week and this week maintained 68 percent.
