Vivendi has released its financial results for the full year 2007, showing a 9.7 per cent increase in revenues to EUR 21,657 million.
The company reported Q4 revenues of EUR 6,014 million (USD 8.9 million) compared to EUR 5,545 million (USD 8.2 million) for the same period of the prior year.
Vivendi's performance was roughly in line with analyst forecasts. It said that it expected net adjusted earnings to reach approximately EUR 2.8 billion (USD 4.14 billion) in 2007.
Although Q4 revenue for the Vivendi Games division was down 4.4 per cent, the division's total revenue for the year exceeded EUR 1 billion for the first time ever - an increase of 33.5 per cent from 2006.
The increase was attributed to Blizzard Entertainment, as revenues from Sierra Entertainment, Sierra Online and Vivendi Games Mobile were down from the prior year. Vivendi noted the impact of unfavourable currency exchange movements upon these business segments.
In 2007, Blizzard's World of Warcraft reached over 10 million subscribers. The company also released the first World of Warcraft expansion - The Burning Crusade - during the first quarter.
