For those who have yet to splash out and purchase Guitar Hero III may want to pay close attention to the following, as one of the most important options for HDTV owners has been overlooked for the PlayStation 2 version of Guitar Hero III.
It appears the Guitar Hero franchise has taken a step back with the release of Guitar Hero III on the PS2. Despite it clearly stating in the game’s manual “Under the Video options for PS2, you have Calibrate Lag, Wide Screen and Progressive Scan.”, the progressive scan option is indeed missing in the PAL version of the game.
We contacted Activision support for further details, and confirmed what we hoped wasn’t true. “The PAL version of the game does not have progressive scan. That is a misprint in the game manual.”
While misprints in manuals aren’t usually anything to get frustrated about, this one is incredibly important for those HDTV owners wishing to have a lag-free enjoyable experience.
