Capcom Gamer's Day report

Capcom Gamer's Day 07 has come and we at NZGamer are now officially allowed to tell you some of the awesome news. There have been quite a few announcements, so let's get on with it, eh?

Firstly, it's been announced that both Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo will be remixed and remade in HD for both XBLA and the PlayStation Network. The former promises to have the graphics redrawn by UDON comics, which will certainly be a welcome addition. The latter's graphics have been touched up, although don't expect anything earth-shattering. Still, both games are a welcome surprise.

While Capcom's Phoenix Wright series has only just hit our shores, a new version, Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations, has been confirmed for America. Since DS games are region-free, it will please Nintendo fans to know that they can import this game if a local release is never announced.

On the topic of lawyers, Capcom has also confirmed that it will be releasing a Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law game based on the brilliant Adult Swim cartoon. It's unknown at this stage exactly what form the game will take, although we expect it to follow the Phoenix Wright formula closely. Stay tuned to NZGamer for more information on what is sure to be a classic game.

In other news, Capcom will be releasing the Xbox 360 smash hit Lost Planet for the PC. It has also confirmed that it has tied up the right to the Moto GP license for the PlayStation brand, although other companies will still be able to make Moto GP games for other platforms.

Capcom will also be releasing two new Mega Man games -- Mega Man ZX Advent and Mega Man Star Force -- for the DS in honour of the Blue Bomber's 20th anniversary. It will also be releasing Mega Man 2 and Street Fighter 2, among others, for mobile phones.

Capcom also demonstrated both Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and Project Treasure Island Z for the Wii. While the Resident Evil title appears to do little to dispell the memories of the Gun Survivor spin-off, Project Treasure Island Z looks set to be one of the most intriguing Wii games yet.

Boasting colourful, lush visuals, this puzzle game looks set to make fantastic use of the Wii remote by including over 80 gestures, including turning keys and scooping water, for the solving of the game's many puzzles.

It's refreshing to see an original game built exclusively for the Wii, so stay tuned to NZGamer to find out more information about Project Treasure Island Z and other Capcom titles as we get it.
