There you are, looking for a game, and this one you've heard oh so much about, like 10 gazillion players a day, over 9000 pre-orders, blah blah blah. But what can you really expect from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare?

Campaign
This is one of the most gripping campaigns I have ever played. Going deep and hard with the SAS, and a big U-RAH from the USMC. This may sound just like your ordinary FPS, where there is probably one evil mastermind you must take out. But no, there's more than that. And many events in the story are just plain epic. Have you ever played a FPS and witnessed the destruction of a city due to nuclear bomb? Witnessed it through your own eyes? No, I didn't think so. A couple of downsides are here too, unfortunately. The campaign is great the first time, though after that, is highly un-replayable. It also doesn't last that long either.

Weapons
Now, away from the Sten gun, Thompson and Kar98ks of Call of Duty 1 and 2, Call of Duty 4, as the name suggests, uses many modern weapons. Well, not really many. Sure, you have the basic weapons of the forces, M4A1s, M16s, AK47s, and thats about it. Everything else is just expected for a Modern FPS, but when you make your next expectation, that gun isn't there. Where's the Steyr AUG? Where's the FA MAS? Where is the... and the list goes on and on. They even have a multiplayer only MP44, the WWII German assault rifle. Is that because of your inability to add more modern weapons, or do you just like to joke around, Infinity Ward?

Multiplayer
This game's multiplayer is one of the best multiplayer's of all time! With an EXP system that sees you ranking up through 55 levels. On each "solid" level (Sergeant, Private First Class), you will unlock a weapon. On each other level, Sergeant II, Private First Class I, you unlock perks. These other levels are made for unlocking perks and challenges and are not real ranks, but I guess that makes sense. And when you reach 55, bored after a bit with everything you wanted unlocked, Prestige! Prestige puts you back at level 1 with a new Icon to show your worth. There are 10 prestige levels in total, and when you reach max you get pretty bored. But everything has to end.

I have covered these topics today and hope you realize that Modern Warfare is a great FPS, some small downsides but still a great game.
