Splinter Cell: Conviction

Splinter Cell: Conviction

These dates are just speculation. Retailers expected launch dates aren't exactly concrete evidence. Don't take this for fact until Microsoft and/or Ubisoft announce it themselves.

A couple of years ago I was really looking forward to the Xbox360 exclusive Splinter Cell: Conviction. The latest in the award winning Tom Clancy: Splinter Cell series. Unfortunatly, it just faded away. Hit with numerous delays I began to wonder if it would ever release. Thankfully, today my hopes have been raised, and my interest in the game has once again peaked.

Several online retailers, including Amazon.com and America's Gamestop are listing Splinter Cell Convivtion with an expected release date of the 2nd of Feb, 2009. That is somewhat earlier that Ubisoft's past claim that we wouldn't see it until April 2009 at the earliest. Maybe these online retailers know something he rest of us don't. I for one have my fingers crossed that they are right.

So, who here is looking forward to playing this game, and will any of you pre-order it?

Embedded below is the original trailer. Enjoy :)

Retailers tend to be a bit hopeful when it comes to retail dates.

I've been waiting so long for Conviction to come out. It's been pushed back so many time I've lost interest.

I agree with djk. I loved the premise behind DA and was really hanging out for Conviction but it's really dragged the chain.

I dunno about Conviction, it seems more bent towards fighting than stealth...

Yeah you may well be right. Personally, I'll reserve judgement until I get a chance to rent it.

They probably decided to rebuild it on the Assasins Creed engine. Assasins creed had smooth animation transitions, and seeing as SCC was going for a dynamic animation system based on your position relative to an object the technologies would work well together.

yeah that makes sense actually. Ubisoft do seem to like the Scimitar engine, and though at times can be buggy, is generally quite good tom play on.
