BioShock

Now, Bioshock, where to start... Half RPG, Half Shooter, All Awesome.
The game starts out on a plane, with the Protagonist of the game (Jack, You) holding a gift from his parents, when suddenly, the plane crashes in the middle of the ocean, shining with next gen awesomeness, you swim your way into a Bathysphere, a big sphere lowered into the ocean via a cable.
Whales swimming around, big daddies and awesomeness, are all commonplace in Rapture.
When the intro ends, you're introduced to splicers, Atlas and the radio.
The radio becomes essential for the other main people of rapture to basically order you about, harass you, and well, try to help.
Combat is smooth and innovative, allowing different players to play thier styles, FPS players have a whole bunch of shiny toys to play about with, stealthy players can set up traps, and RPG players will find themselves at home with the Plasmids (Magic) and even though there are these types well, templates I guess, everyone will be swapping different tactics, each style will blend until the user has developed a firm understanding of the units they face, and how they play.
Bioshock is one pretty game, everything looks great, the water, the blood,
how shiny it is, everything...even the splicers! (Just Kidding!)
Also, the sound development is great, the whack of the wrench was fantastic, and the ragdoll bodies are really fun, specially when you use them as meatshields to clear traps, or put 12 Proximity Mines on one and throw them at a Big Daddy.
Little sisters is basically the good/bad system, allowing you to kill the Adam slug inside, to save the girl, and get 80 adam and every 3 you save, you'll get a Teddy Bear full of goodies (200 ADAM always, and a few other things), or harvest the slug, killing her in the process, yielding 160 adam, now for me, I like to play as a hero, good guy, and saved em all, and i'm wondering how people can bring themselves to kill her... I mean, her life must suck hard, guess some people just want the adam eh?
Big Daddies are also the awesomeness.
The enemies range from easy at the start, challenging in the middle, and can range from hard-easy at the end (Depends on play style, I never really died unless I was screwing about...) some players will find this game easier than others, all I really did was buff my wrench (Hardcore) and smacked the splicers and big daddies in the head.
The wealth system in Bioshock is also great, each type of upgrade had a different type of currency, Genetic modification had ADAM, Produced/Harvested by Little Sisters, Ammo and Healthpacks/Eve Hypos with normal money, weapon upgrade stores closed after 1 upgrade has been purchased, and they were free.
One thing that could have been expanded on a little, was the plasmids, yeah there are quite a few types, but I used 2 through my visit to rapture, unless I wanted to screw around, then that number expanded a little, other than Electrobolt (The only plasmid I really used at all) and Telekinesis (Used only for clearing traps, and obtaining out of reach loot) that was it, electrobolt did it all, stun and hurt enemies, own anyone in water, open a few doors and shut down electrical bots so you could hack them, it really did everything you needed.
Weapons were a little more useful used all the weapons except the chemical thrower, more than others and in my opinion, the wrench is by far the most ownage thing in your arsenal, for when you combine it with the camera (Allows you to take photos of foes, letting you research them and get +Damage, special abilities, and Gene Tonics, also, used to take photos of dead guys) can really own some face in quite hard, other well used ones are the shotgun and Grenade Launcher (For Big Daddies and throwing proximity Mines on bots that you own on low health, and corpses to throw at people.)
The storyline is great, me, being an RPG player guessed a few of the events, but hey, it was still great.
It was a little on the short side, clocking in with about 10 hours of gameplay, (Medium Difficulty, 100% Little Sisters, Gene Tonics, Weapon Upgrades)
Overall, Bioshock was an awesome experience, I had been waiting for it for 2 years, and it was well worth the wait, even though i've finished it, I still have the urge to keep playing, and in different ways, and I guess thats where all of the replay value comes from, it was a solid experience that leaves you wanting more, I just don't know if I want a sequel, I love it that much, that I don't wanna see them sell out...Maybe 1 Sequel then... Because I do want it:P
