Stupid industry

The industry pisses me off.  You know why?  Because it has three companies all putting out a console that they want you to buy.  It also has other companies making games exclusively for one platform, making it tempting to own all three.  It's utter bollocks, I tell you.

 

I've been thinking about this a lot lately as I've been thinking about the role of the PS3 in my life.  I already decided that I didn't need a 360 and flogged it off, but now I'm thinking that I just need a Wii.  After all, I don't play games as much as I used to -- I find that reading, watching anime and movies, and writing are taking up a lot of the time I used to spend playing games -- and the Wii certainly has enough quality on it to keep me interested.  I just picked up FIFA 09 All Play for it, and then there's all that nifty stuff that was announced at Nintendo's media summit (I'm all over that Space Walk game!).  So, I'm thinking, ya know, sell the PS3.  Might as well, ya know?  (I won't, because my fiancee would kill me.  But mentally selling it would perhaps bring me some relief.)

 

But then I go and think about LittleBigPlanet, Fat Princess, and Final Fantasy XIII.  Not to mention the ultimately likely Kingdom Hearts III (which should totally be on the Wii anyway.)  And then I think about how, you know, keeping an attachment to the PS3 is something I should probably do.  But then there's that damn thing looking at me going "$1200 and you barely play me!"

 

Really, this comes down to my need for minimalism in my life to stay sane, but I'm going to blame the industry anyway.  Stupid industry.

 

Anyway, the upshot of this is that I'm thinking about selling a few of my PS3 games to keep the clutter down.  I'll post what in a few days...
