Music

A few years ago I hardly ever listened to music, but once I played around in my sister's partially ill gotten library, I never looked back. Every time I boot up the computer, the first thing I do is open my music library, pick a random song, and then do whatever. There's a reason why pretty much every civilization had developed some kind of musical entertainment.
There is something about music that communicates with humans subconsciously. It can lower your heartbeat and calm you, or the opposite D= It has been used to make chicken lay more eggs. The right music can weaken your body's muscles temporarily and it can influence your emotions, making you happy, angry, worried and sad. And this is why music is very useful for games.
The Halo series would be nowhere near as epic without it's awesome orchestral music accompanying the battles. Doom 3 would be not as not scary (It didn't scare me, honest) as it was without it's dark, tense music and freaky sound effects. I knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy's cousin who muted it so he could play to the end at night without constantly worrying about what lay in the shadows. What would Guitar Hero and Rock Band be without music? Why am I still playing Audiosurf? All the game is is skillfully pressing buttons, but the audio feedback you get from hitting those notes is what makes you keep playing.
Bow to the power Music, you know it to be the true master of your emotions!

Play Gears 2 while listening to Death Magnetic or City of Evil. It's amazing
I agree, Marty O'Donnell is the man. Mirrors Edge also has some pretty sweet music. And it's all there in the unlockables section to listen to individually which is neat for a standard copy game.
and sometimes really trippy techno
I really like games where the music and gameplay blend together such as Rez, Lumines, Frequency or Every Extend Extra. In the zone.
P.S Doom kinda scared me too lol
I hate music while I game. Then I cant hear the GAMES MUSIC.
